I am a long-time member of the fiber tribe. My grandmother taught me to knit when I was eight and needlepoint and embroidery soon followed. I have been working in local yarn stores on and off, mostly on, since 1987! My mother was co-owner of Yarns International, an amazing knitting store in Bethesda, Maryland. I was a co-owner of another great store,The Yarn Spot in Wheaton, Maryland, until it closed in February, 2016.
Stitching Out Loud has grown out of those years of experience and out of my desire to claim a small corner of the creative world as my own. I want to share my stitching and creative experiments with you in this blog. I’ll talk about whatever is on my mind at the moment and hope you will join in to make it a conversation.
When I’m not stitching, I enjoy reading, writing, going to movies with my husband, and spending time with friends and family. I have a grown daughter and son, a granddaughter, a dog, and three cats.
