Walk the Dog

October 26, 2012 by Admin Leave a Comment

I am so excited to announce the launch of Harper & Figg’s first pattern–Walk the Dog!  My friend Carol, a dog walker, asked me to knit her a hat to keep her ears warm and to match her coat.  I knew that 2×2 rib was the most stretchy and I also knew that I would lose my mind knitting a hat in plain 2×2.  So, I threw in some purl rows to make it interesting and worked the top shaping so that the purl circles continue to the center.  I knit one for Carol in Spud and Chloe Sweater in a color to match her jacket.  Then, I knit one in Venezia Worsted-a yummy wool and silk blend. It is a perfect gift project–a hat that fits almost anyone, man or woman.  I have seen it on many heads and it looks great on them all.  Here it is:

Pattern: Walk the Dog

Yarn: Cascade Venezia Worsted, color 178

Needles: US 6/4mm16″ circs and/or dpns, US 5/3.5mm 16″ circ

Knit in the round on circular needles (changing to dpns when you must) I think you will enjoy this pattern!
